Our FINAL chorus concert for the 2018-2019 school year will be on May 14th at 7:00 PM. All students should have at miminum one parent/guardian/family member/grown-up there to support them! It will be a wonderful concerts and the kids have been working really hard. I will also be in need of 5 parents to assist with logistics for the students during the concert. 6th Grade Chorus members will go on a field trip on May 9th during the school day to visit our "feeder" elementary schools. We will leave during 1st period and return during 4th period. Please wear your black pants, red collard shirts, and black close toe shoes. This field trip is open to all 6th grade chorus members, however I can only take 48 students total. I will only take those students who I receive permission forms from by Friday (4/26). All grade levels will take a test on Key signatures! 6th and 7th grade will take it on Friday, 8th grade will take it on Tuesday. STUDY! Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns. All first connection choir classes will take the Student Health Survey on 2/15/19. This will be very quick.
Also LGPE is quickly approaching. WE NEED PARENT CHAPERONES!!! 3/14/19 8th grade will attend LGPE at Piedmont Baptist Church. All students must make arrangements to be picked up after school at 5:00 pm. 3/15/19 7th grade will attend LGPE at Piedmont Church. For Tuesday, Dec. 18th please wear your red collard shirt, black pants, and black close toe shoes. Shirts must be tucked in. We will take photos during your class period on the stage. If you are not dressed in uniform, you will not be in the picture.

Monday, October 22nd is the 6th and 7th grade chorus concert at 7:00pm in the Smitha theater. Students are to arrive at 6:30pm with 7th grade seated in their seats in the theater and 6th grade in the Chorus room. Students are to wear their red Smitha band/chorus/orchestra polo, black dress pants, and solid black close toe shoes. All parents/guardians are expected to attend the concert and pick their child up promptly at the end of the performance. Tuesday, October 23rd is the 8th grade concert at 7:00pm in the Smitha theater. Students are to arrive in the chorus room at 6:30pm dressed in their solid red band/chorus/orchestra polo, black dress pants, and black close toe shoes. All cheesecake/butter-braid/cookie dough fundraisers should have been turned in last week. I am in the process of inputting all the information and we should be on track for deliveries on September 13th. If you are a 7th or 8th grader interested in auditioning for District 12 Honor chorus, please fill out the purple sheet I gave out at the beginning of the year, or go to the Important Dates packet underneath the important dates tab to receive information. I must have a signed honor chorus sheet for you to audition. All-State Chorus (7th/8th grade) solos will be passed out on the 30th. If you are interested in auditioning for All-State Chorus, please turn in all-state audition form and $25 registration fee to the black box. If you have any questions please email me. I hope you all have had a wonderful beginning to the school year! We have a ton of exciting activities planned this year and a packet went home with 7th and 8th graders last week. 6th graders will receive their packets tomorrow during class. I will also attach the packet in digital form to this post. Also in the packet is information about Real Men Sing ($5) and Bella Voce ($15), these extra chorus opportunities are open to all 6th, 7th, and 8th grade chorus students, with forms and money due August 17th. In 7th/8th grade packets is information about Honor Chorus and All-State Chorus. All 7th grade chorus members will sing on Thursday, August 16th during Open House. Students are to report to the chorus room by 6:30pm dressed in their red chorus/band/orchestra shirts, black dress pants, and black close toe shoes. This will not last long and students should be finished around 7:10pm. All parents are welcome to come check out the chorus room next Thursday during open house! Stop on by! :-)

All 6th grade 7th period women's choir needs to report to the theater after they eat lunch on Monday at 12:15pm. We need to rehearse with the 7th grade band and orchestra members in preparation for the 8th grade honors assembly during school at 9:30am on Tuesday. On Tuesday, all 6th grade women's choir will need to WEAR STANDARD CONCERT ATTIRE TO SCHOOL! Red collard shirt, black pants, and black close toe shoes.
